Because of the fallout from the arrest of Henry Louis Gates in Cambridge and President Obama's remarks, he (Obama) decided to have the three of them come to the White House to discuss race relations and profiling over a beer. Vice President Biden even joined them. You can tell it is summer and that we are in the information age when the news media is not only reporting what beer each of them is selected but analyzing why they are selecting to drink that sort of beer.
This incident sure brought to the forefront the importance of race relations in law enforcement and as the nation's first black president, it is one of the many issues Obama will have to put on his plate to tackle.
